As a small business it can be tough to try to figure out different ways to market your products of services that are affordable and easily doable. Today I want to share 4 marketing strategies that can be used by the following example small businesses.
Marketing a business doesn’t have to be expensive or require a lot of effort. It can be something that is done effectively by a business of any size. The following marketing strategies are all strategies that don’t require spending thousands of dollars, or a lot of time, or energy in order to do them. Equally as important they don’t require the person or people doing them to do something that is far outside of their normal business operations. In other words they can be carried out for the most part while the small business does what it normally does.
Simple And Affordable Marketing Strategies For Small Businesses
1. Help People Get Prepared
If you own a tailor shop a simple marketing strategy you can use to get exposure is offer a free job interview workshop for people looking to get a job. You can do this on your own, or reach out to someone in that field and ask if they would be interested in holding a workshop at your location. It would be a nice way for them to reach more people as well.
You can use the event to get people who may have never been to your shop before to come and learn about your business. Also this can be an opportunity for you to market your services and convey how the services you offer, such as wearing a tailored suit to an interview can benefit someone when they go to their interview.
2. Help People In A Time Of Need
One cheap way a dry cleaner can engage with their customers is to offer a shirt loaner program. For example if someone is at work and has an accident of some sort and gets their shirt dirty they can come by the shop and pick one of the shirts in your loaner program that is dry cleaned and ready to go. They drop their current shirt off and pick one up and be on their way.
This can be specially great for locations that are near a large business district or downtown. This is something that can help a small business develop something ongoing with customers and also make them different.
3. Help People Be Safe On The Road
A simple way an electrical company can reach more customers is offer free car headlights. You can purchase maybe ten or fifteen headlights for the most common vehicles in your area. You then get the word out that you are giving them away (only giving away and not installing) free to anyone that is driving with a headlight out. Let customers know you work to light up their homes or offices, but that you want them to be safe when they are out of those places and on the road.
4. Help Kids Get To School On Time
If you own a mechanic shop a marketing strategy you can use to get your business out there is to give some gas cards away for free. What you can do is find local schools in your area and offer to give them the gas cards so they can give them to parents whose kids show up on time. You let the school and parents know that you want to make sure you make it easy for parents to get their kids to school on time. You can also offer a discount or something else for local parents that come to the shop to get work done on their vehicles.
As you can see there are different ways for small businesses to reach more customers that don’t require teams of people or thousands of dollars. One of the key things is to think of different ways to engage with the people in your local area. I hope you found these marketing strategies to be beneficial. I also hope they get you thinking about different things you can do drive more customers your way.
